A Handbook for the Modern Teacher
A Guide to Digital Media & Learning
This project provides resources to teachers on how to efficiently and effectively use digital media in educational spaces.

About Our Project
This website is digital handbook that contains resourceful information to aid the modern-day teacher in facilitating learning in their classrooms. The content will be academic and evidence supported while remaining practical and easy to implement. The topics are:
History of Digital Learning: In this group, background information on digital media and learning will be discussed, and information on the history of digital media will be provided to our users. The main categories that will be focused on are, learning, technology, and literacy.
Quality Matters: This group will be exploring the considerations of digital learning in terms of affordances, accessibility, and equity. In order for digital learning to be effective and equitable, we find that it is important to possess an equity agenda of deploying new media to reach and enable students who otherwise lack access to opportunity.
Online & Digital Transition: The purpose of this group section is to introduce distance learning to teachers who are unfamiliar with its modalities and best practices, as well as to assist teachers in transitioning from the traditional classroom to educating online. We will inform educators of the differences between distance learning and live instruction, and guide them on how to create an effective distance learning environment.
Integration of Collaborative & Maker Spaces: Rooted in the idea that the process of learning is a cognitive, social and constructive act, this group explores Maker Spaces and Collaboratory Areas and how they can be integrated into the educational process to facilitate learning.
